Cleaning up your act, America?

Out of (approximately) 200 million tons of trash Americans throw out each year, they are one of the greatest waste producers in the world. By some statistics , 40% of the world’s wastes are American-made. Also considering the coal emissions, the total pollutive output is mind-boggling. Admittedly, they recycle around 64 million tons of the same trash a year – but is that enough?

James Tracy talked for Monitor.hr about his invention

We’ve had an excellent opportunity to talk with a man whose vision of pollution processing is revolutionary in both economical and ecological senses. James Tracy, (from Enid, Oklahoma) showed us his Microwave Induced Plasma (MIP) design which, if applied successfully enough, could change the world and its current global warming issues in a blink of an eye.

Revolutionary discoveries

The MIP breaks down compounds to their elements, releasing and capturing the solids, while collecting the gases to be gasified into fuels or electricity. This process can clean all pollution, recycling the solids with zero harmful emissions and increasing fuel efficiency.

- The biggest problem in fossil fuels is that they’re making an incomplete combustion, resulting in a lot of filthy exhaust substances. We can use the MIP technology to avoid that altogether and use it for a lot of other useful causes, including pollution decreases. The technology can vary in size, so it can be implemented from a car to an entire building, depending on the power output. As it is still a work-in-progress project, we’re looking for funding to finish it successfully – Tracy said for Monitor.hr.

The numerous functions of the MIP

Using this technology can, amongst its other uses, create carbon composites (materials ten times stronger and lighter than steel) and purify breathing air in common or uncommon (underwater, space and such) workplaces, as well as purify existing ocean and waste waters. The MIP technology can be viewed in action via Tracy’s web page.

James Tracy – a self-educated scientist

James Tracy (44) started his love for chemistry and physics in his youth, or more precisely, in high school. He has a 167 IQ score and has developed many projects, including the MIP, without even finishing college! A really motivated scientist, regarding he learned everything he knows so far – merely by experimenting in his own home! He has also started his own company called ''Pure Power Inc.'' and is currently in search of financial support for his projects, while also submitting a few of his designs to Google’s ''10 to the 100th'' project – whose first five voted winners receive 10 million dollars of funding!

America’s refusals

With a wide range of useful applications, America could harness Tracy’s ideas to make a better, cost-efficient, recyclable fuel and at the same time avoid a lot of unnecessary pollution. This would create many new jobs and drastically improve on ecology and current fossil fuel consumption. The unfortunate part is that America seems unwilling to finance such an idea, as Tracy is still working from a provisional patent and is denied funding on every end.

The obvious reasons for such a denial come from the fact that, by using Tracy’s technology in a broader sense, all gas processing and cracking facilities would become oblivious and their owners bankrupt. The oil market would lose a lot of money, as well – since its current dominion on the market would diminish with the appearance of recyclable fuel. This all seems to show that America isn’t fully willing to embrace a cheaper and cleaner future.

Foreign approval and domestic disapproval

Tracy has received numerous offers from other countries of the world which he placed on hold, because he wanted his homeland to benefit primarily from this achievement; and has also gotten a huge approval from Dr. Paul A. Curto (a retired NASA Chief Technologist from Maryland; currently the CEO of Tracy’s company) – who even tried to aid the funding by addressing the issue with US Senator James M. Inhofe – but to no avail. Tracy has also tried to present his invention to the Departments of Energy, Defense and Agriculture, respectfully – although, they also showed no interest in it. Therefore, I cannot avoid, but feel sorry, for every intelligent or resourceful invention man can make – as it will always ultimately be buried beneath tons and tons of capitalistic bureaucracy and the interests of the energy industry. Some may even say: unprocessed trash.
